The official red band trailer for IT: Welcome to Derry is here. The show starts streaming October 26 on HBO Max.
The series will follow the events in 1962 , the time leading up to the events of the first film based in 1989 of the Stephen King It series.
The series is a highly anticipated one, but not everyone’s happy. In an iHorror article, Luna Gray writes:
“It should be noted that some King fans are not thrilled about the series. Some fans have stated that Pennywise is a cosmic force of evil that doesn’t require a backstory and that trying to give it one will only diminish the story. However, have you seen Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise? Freaking terrifying.”
Here’s the synopsis for episode one:
Four months after their classmate’s sudden disappearance, Teddy, Phil, Lilly, and Ronnie vow to figure out why so many kids have gone missing in Derry…and why they’ve each been experiencing strange phenomena. Meanwhile, Major Leroy Hanlon arrives at Derry Air Force Base, where he navigates a chilly reception from some of his fellow airmen.
