Harry Potter star Jessie Cave has revealed she was recently barred from a fan convention due to her presence on the X-rated subscription website, OnlyFans.
“I found out that I didn’t get booked for a ‘Harry Potter’ convention recently, as I’m now doing OnlyFans,” Cave, 38, wrote on Substack.
“They explained it was because it’s a ‘family show and OnlyFans is affiliated with porn.’ This was baffling to me as some actors who do conventions (most actors, actually) have done TV and films in which they’ve done sex scenes and nudity. I’m just playing with my hair!”
Cave, who posts hair fetish content on the site, said she was largely unbothered by the snub.
“I am not upset about the prospect of no more ‘Harry Potter’ conventions,” Cave added.
“There’s going to be a new cast now and it’s a different time. Plus, I have done conventions for over 15 years and have enough photos and wizard memorabilia.”
The UK actress shot to fame in Warner Bros’ blockbuster Harry Potter franchise playing Lavender Brown, the brief love interest of Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint).
Cave, who is married to British comedian Alfie Brown, had announced her move to OnlyFans back in March.
At the time, the mom-of-four said her page would focus on her signature long and thick blonde hair.
On the site, Cave wrote, “Former Harry Potter actress, writer, doodler and now Only Fans Long Hair Specialist”.
“I do NICHE HAIR CONTENT which you may well quite like. How magical!,” she continues.
“Owl drop near daily. Wizard warning: Will not do explicit sexual content. Might be in my underwear.
“Will respond to Dm’s (sic). Let’s get to know each other! If you have a hair thing, this is the place for you.”
She later divulged on Instagram that the decision was to help finance her writing.
“I do get lots of interest in the hair thing, and I just thought, f**k it, I’m gonna do something that is very niche,” she said.
“I know it’s niche, but it’s been really cool to do. It’s been quite liberating.
“I really am choosing to think of this as an empowering moment for me, because I have been this very kind of straight, prim actress for a lot of my career.
“And this is very much a way of me saying, ‘OK, I’m doing something that is not normal. This is weird and me and a bit kinky, and why not?’”
