On February 24, 2022, therapist Nathalie Timtchenko watched the news in horror. Russian tanks rolled toward Kyiv, the beloved city where she’d counseled clients for all of her nearly decade-long career. She had recently moved to working in Boston-area psychiatric hospitals while her husband attended graduate school there.Yet she couldn’t stop thinking about all the friends, family, and colleagues back in Ukraine, sheltering in place as air raid sirens punctured the night air, or others picking up rifles to man checkpoints around the city. She quickly built a Google form asking fellow mental health professionals to volunteer their services as…
Jordi Fernández benched his first-round draft pick point guards Egor Dëmin and Ben Saraf for the entire fourth quarter Wednesday in a comeback bid led by veterans Tyrese Martin and Terance Mann. “I thought Tyrese was awesome,” said Fernández. “It’s about us, and whoever helps the team fight right there. There’s nothing given to anybody. I’m rewarding a player who had a great summer, and he was playing well.” Martin played the entire fourth with eight points and four boards. He had 13 and five for the game. Dëmin has struggled to get downhill, something Fernández said the lottery pick…

It’s the Blue Jays’ series to lose headed home following a 6-1 victory over the reigning champions at Dodger Stadium. Yesavage set a World Series rookie record with 12 strikeouts on…

Most people spend a good deal of time thinking about how we are coming across to others versus how we perceive ourselves. It will be frustrating or worse when our contributions do not seem to be understood, accepted, or appreciated. We are wise to pay attention to how we are being perceived in personal life (e.g., how an in-law regards us as a parent), in professional life (e.g., how an administrator evaluates a project we created), and in community life (e.g., how family or friends react to a speech we present). We each have our own goals for how we…
