Mary Shelley’s School for Monsters: The Killing Stone: “The second graphic novel in the award-winning Mary Shelley’s School for Monsters series, The Killing Stone, releases on September 16, 2025. Later in the month, Los Angeles Comic Con attendees will be able meet the writer, Jessica Maison, and pick up a signed copy of The Killing Stone with themed vinyl stickers and art prints while claiming their magical monster pin from Wicked Tree Press mystery vending machine in Artist Alley, booth K20.
The Killing Stone is a thrilling adventure that ends in letting go of monster-sized grudges. Shel, a supernatural version of Mary Shelley, and her monster-rescuing crew are back in the highly anticipated second book of the Mary Shelley’s School for Monsters series. The most dreaded yōkai in Japan—Tamamo-no-mae, the nine-tailed kitsune—has been freed from the Killing Stone. Unfortunately for Shel and Frank, they were the ones who accidentally trapped her there in the first place. The school’s newest student, Nari, is an Onryō, and her grudge magic may be the key to diffusing the kitsune’s rage against Shel. As they navigate this perilous situation, Shel must also confront her own deep-seated grudge. If she can’t let go of her pain and anger, it could spell disaster for everyone.
The team who created La Llorona in the Machine reassembled for book two. The Killing Stone is written by Jessica Maison (Plastic Girl, Pistil) and illustrated by Anna Wieszczyk (Godkiller, Home) with lettering from Matt Krotzer (Maybe Someday, House of Fear) and design from Metal Ninja Studios.”
