Oni Press readies first volume of EC Comics Treasury of Terror for this fall!
The resurrected EC Comics titles from Oni Press have brought back the chilling karmic destiny tradition of the original imprint’s titles from the 1950s. Now an EC Comics Treasury of Terror Vol. 1 is on it’s way. It’s an impressive 10″ × 14 compilation, and it will release Sept. 9. Wicked Horror’s excited to share that news and to offer a look at the cover plus a peek inside!

Oni is producing the title in conjunction with William M. Gaines Agent, Inc. Gaines (1922-1992) was the publisher of EC in the 1950s. At that time, EC was the birthplace of Tales from the Crypt, MAD magazine, Weird Science, and others. It was shuttered by the Comics Code Authority in 1956 the wake of comic book controversy and concern content was harmful to the young.
Oni, known for publications including Scott Pilgrim, promises the treasury is a “treacherous tome of tortuous tales curating the most celebrated, fan-favorite tales from the first two years of EC’s best-selling, Eisner Award-nominated resurrection EC” that includes the titles Epitaphs from the Abyss, Catacomb of Torment, Cruel Kingdom and Shiver SuspenseStories.
The edition work by Jason Aaron (Thor), Cullen Bunn (The Sixth Gun), Chris Condon (Ultimate Wolverine), Patricia A. Jackson (Star Wars Adventure Journal), Kano (Gotham Central), Matt Kindt (BRZRKR), David Lapham (Stray Bullets), Shawn Martinbrough (Detective Comics), Christopher Mitten (Hellboy), Tony Moore (Fear Agent), Greg Pak (Planet Hulk), Stephanie Phillips (Planet She-Hulk), Andrea Sorrentino (Gideon Falls), and more.
