Amanda Anisimova shared a mournful update regarding the death of her pet dog Miley, referring to the past seven days as the ‘worst week’ for the Anisimova family. The WTA star was extremely close to Miley, with the dog previously having attended some of the tournaments where Anisimova played.
On Sunday, December 15, Anisimova, the World No. 4 in women’s singles tennis, took to her Instagram and shared a post. It featured fifteen treasured moments of Miley and the love, affection and warmth the she brought to the Anisimova family. Through the written caption, the 24-year-old laid bare how heartbroken she and her entire family were following Miley’s passing.

“My forever little angel baby 🤍 this past week has been the worst week of our lives ❤️🩹💔 you’ve been by my side through it all since I was 8, and always will be. Thank you for being the best dog we could ask for Miley. Love you more than words could ever describe little baby girl 🥺🤍,” Anisimova wrote.
Some of Amanda Anisimova’s WTA rivals such as Daria Kasatkina, Camila Osorio and Caroline Dolehide sent their love to the American as well as Miley in the comments. Some others, such as Jessica Pegula and Jasmine Paolini, showed their support for the griefstricken Anisimova by liking the post.
Miley previously attended some tournaments Anisimova played. For instance, in 2022, she was an ever-present in the American’s box at the Charleston Open.

Following her quarterfinal triumph against CoCo Vandeweghe at the 2022 Charleston Open, Amanda Anisimova spoke up about having her pet dog Miley courtside during her matches. The American was full of praise for Miley, saying:
“She stays calm and composed the entire time (courtside). She’s just sleeping. She’s a really good dog. Everybody has been coming up to me, telling me, your dog behaves so well. So, no. She’s good.”
Anisimova later added:
“Definitely when I bring her to tournaments, it serves as like a calmness, and kind of just like coming back and having her there, I like it a lot.”
On the tennis front, Amanda Anisimova was one of the best performers on the WTA Tour in 2025. The 24-year-old won two WTA 1000 titles during the season and reached the finals at the Wimbledon Championships and the US Open as well.
