There was a nearly 70% increase in interest and readership of the book series on the Libby app across North American library users 30 days after the debut of the second season, compared to the interest shown for the books on the app 30 days after the debut of the first season.
The My Life with the Walter Boys show is one of the latest series to be adapted from YA books. The original books by Ali Novak—My Life with the Walter Boys (2012) and My Return to the Walter Boys (2025)—follow Jackie Howard, whose family dies in a car accident. The prim and proper New Yorker has to trade in her city living for a Colorado ranch lifestyle once she moves across the country to live with the Walters and their 12 kids.
