Two long-eared donkeys from an English sanctuary have shattered Guinness World Records — one for its enormous height, and the other for sporting the world’s longest ears on an animal of their kind, according to reports.
Dynamic Derek, a 5-foot-5 gentle giant, was officially crowned the world’s tallest donkey, while his stablemate Bambou took the title for longest ears on a donkey, measuring a whopping 13 inches, BBC reported.
Both donkeys live at the Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary in Huttoft, which is home to dozens of rescue equines.
“No one can believe he’s a donkey – they all think he’s a mule because he’s so big,” sanctuary owner Tracy Garton told the outlet about Derrick.
Despite his behemoth stature, Derrick is a big softie, according to the owner.
“Derrick doesn’t know he is big – he is very affectionate and loves to be with people,” Garton said.
Bambou, on the other hand, has “very, very long fluffy ears and they are the biggest in the world,” she said.
Volunteer Bill Tembley, who has spent nine years caring for the sanctuary’s animals, said it is astonishing to now have two world-record holders in the barnyard.

Tembley described Bambou as cute, but as “thick as two short planks”.
“He’s a good boy though and very content,” he said.
However, towering Derrick, “does exactly what he wants and he gets away with it.”
“He will literally walk straight through you and knock you flying, but he doesn’t mean it,” Tembley said.
“I just love being with them.”
