So many horror movie trailers, such little time!
October is finally upon us, and with that comes an increase in horror movies, television shows, and related documentaries! In the past week alone there has been a plethora of trailers dumped into our lap for our viewing pleasure. Let’s sift through them, shall we?
Psycho Killer
Psycho Killer is a horror movie melded with a psychological thriller and a twist of Satanism for good measure. The movie is written by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en), which is no surprise given the promise of the story yet to unfold.
Furthermore, the trailer is full of Satanic imagery in the form of subliminal messages. A rams head, upside down crosses, the mark of the beast ‘666’, an upside down pentagram and more all flash quickly before our eyes.
The film stars Georgina Campbell as Jane Thorne. Co-starring in Psycho Killer is horror veteran Malcolm McDowell, as well as Logan Miller, and James Preston Rogers. The movie is slated to be released in theaters February 20, 2026.
We Bury the Dead
We Bury the Dead is written and directed by Australian writer and director Zak Hilditch.
The trailer begins revealing a dystopian world where a military experiment has left many of its citizens dead… only to rise again.
The movie stars Daisy Ridley (Scrawl) as Ava. We follow her as she searches for her missing husband. Her search reveals how bad, and deadly, this world has become. Quickly her journey becomes a fight for survival.
We Bury the Dead will be released on January 2, 2026 in theaters.
V/H/S Halloween
V/H/S Halloween is the newest installment of the found footage series, with seven others preceding it. Among the cast of each storyline, two directors are returning from past films; Alex Ross Perry (V/H/S, 2012) and Bryan M. Furgeson (V/H/S/99, 2022).
The gritty found footage movie is divided up among six different stories, all focusing on Hallow’s Eve night. The trailer is filled with lots of candy, costumes, and carnage!
V/H/S Halloween comes out exclusively on Shudder on October 3rd to kick off the season!
The Thing With Feathers
The Thing with Feathers is a movie about the punishing physical manifestation of grief. A widowed father, played by Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC’s Sherlock), is left to raise his two sons after the sudden death of his wife.
If grief isn’t difficult enough to navigate, his pain takes on the form of a mentally sadistic crow. Throughout the trailer the bird pecks at the father’s brain, constantly infiltrating his thoughts. The crow taunts him as the man’s world falls apart, bringing him to the edge of sanity.
The Thing With Feathers is slated to come out this November 28th. As if the holiday season wasn’t depressing enough…
Dolly
Macy, played by Fabianne Therese, is an unsuspecting young woman who is abducted and forced to play house by a masked psychopath. This stranger wears a mask, wig, and dress which all resembles the porcelain dolls your grandmother used to collect.
Throughout the trailer we see signs of what the life size Cupie Doll intends for the unsuspecting Macy. The young woman finds herself waking up in an adult size crib, dressed in little girl clothes, and being force fed milk. Who’s the doll now?
Dolly is currently being shown at film festivals, so be sure to check iHorror for updated release information!
Match
Match shows us the horror of dating apps… literally.
The movie is directed by Danishka Esterhazy, who also brought us the 2021 remake of The Slumber Party Massacre.
Paola (Humberly González) is unlucky in love, but has recently found an attractive potential boyfriend on a dating app. Giddy and blushing, she gushes to her skeptical sister Maria (Shaeane Jimenez) about how perfect he is. Too perfect. Nevertheless, she goes over to his home for their first date. Once inside, that is where she is intended to stay by any means necessary.
The trailer only scratches the very surface of this twisted and cringe-worthy movie, and to say anything more would spoil the taboo plot.
This one you just have to see for yourself. Match is currently available to watch for free on Tubi!
