According to a new report from The Direct, the new Carrie series is hoping to drop right in time for spooky season. Katee Sackhoff, who stars in the film, was recently at the Vancouver Fan Expo and dropped the release date plans.
“October of 2026, ‘Carrie’ comes out on Amazon. You guys are in for a treat. It’s very good,” stated Sackhoff.
“You guys are gonna love it. Mike Flanagan is so good at what he does: smart, psychological horror,” Sackhoff added. “And he’s very, very good at adapting Stephen King, and Stephen trusts him.”
The official synopsis for the new Carrie series is as follows. “Carrie tells the story of misfit high-schooler Carrie White (Howell), who has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother (Sloyan). After her father’s sudden and untimely death, Carrie finds herself contending with the alien landscape of public high school, a bullying scandal that shatters her community, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers.”
The new Carrie series has developed a tremendous amount of hype. It has an all star cast, one of the best living horror directors, and is based on one of Stephen King’s best novels. How could it possibly go wrong?
