SWORD OF THE WAR-MONSTER – A savage new fantasy epic from MONSTER FORGE: “A brutal new entry in the Monster Forge Universe, SWORD OF THE WAR-MONSTER is an oversized, standalone graphic novel that blends grimdark sword-and-sorcery with classic horror and unapologetic monster mayhem.
In a world ruled by power-mad wizards and crawling with arcane abominations, one monster — built from the bones and weapons of dead heroes — breaks free and sets out to destroy the very masters who created him.
With its Conan-meets-Frankenstein vibe and blood-drenched visuals, the book is perfect for fans of Berserk, Heavy Metal Magazine, Hellboy, and Lovecraftian dark fantasy.”
THE STORY
“I was to be his mindless War-Monster.
I was to secure his rule over a world torn apart by magic.
But even wizards must deal with other wizards…”
When necro-wizard Bezulus stitched together his monstrous champion, the War-Monster, he intended to rule the world through fear and sorcery. But the creature he built from the remains of fallen warriors had other plans.
Now, with the cursed Blood-Blade in hand and vengeance burning in his veins, the War-Monster has one goal:
KILL EVERY WIZARD.
“This world is heavy, grotesque, and epic in scale,” says artist David Hartman (Phantasm: Ravager, Heavy Metal).
“Every page is soaked in shadows, blood, and the kind of monsters I always wanted to unleash on the world.”
INSIDE THE BOOK
100+ pages of brutal, wizard-slaying action
Stunning gothic horror art by David Hartman
Written by comics veterans Shannon Eric Denton & Jeff Mariotte
