With the Honkai Star Rail 4.0 closed beta test starting, the Black Swan buffs have been leaked. Right after the drip marketing campaign, HoYoverse already confirmed that a second wave of Novaflare will arrive alongside the upcoming patch.
Since the DoT playstyle has become popular, players might want to learn more about the Black Swan buffs. One of the reliable sources, Hakush.in, has already disclosed the information. That said, let’s take a look at what the new Black Swan buffs are in Honkai Star Rail 4.0.

Every Black Swan buff in Honkai Star Rail 4.0, explored
In the leaked information disclosed by Hakush.in, Black Swan’s Skill, Ultimate, Passive Talent, Traces, and Eidolons are scheduled to receive buffs when Honkai Star Rail 4.0 commences:
Black Swan’s Basic ATK change
Black Swan’s Basic ATK now only deals Wind damage and does not inflict Arcana stacks on the target.
Black Swan’s Skill change
Similar to her Basic ATK, this memokeeper’s Skill works the same, but it won’t inflict Arcana stacks on the enemies.
Black Swan’s Ultimate change
Now, Black Swan’s Ultimate has a chance of adding extra Arcana stacks when the enemy already has one. Moreover, the stacks won’t be halved after she deals damage at the beginning of a turn.
Black Swan’s Passive Talent change
Black Swan’s Talent now allows the Arcana stacks to overflow after reaching the maximum amount. Moreover, these excessive stacks will be removed when she deals damage.

Black Swan’s major Trace A2 change
Black Swan has a chance of inflicting five Arcana stacks on the enemies she attacks, regardless of what debuffs they possess.
Black Swan’s major Trace A4 change
When the enemies join the fight, they will be inflicted with the Skill’s DEF reduction effect on top of the Arcana infliction. Whenever Black Swan uses her Basic ATK or Ultimate, she will activate the aforementioned DEF reduction effect for three turns.
Black Swan’s major Trace A6 change
In this new kit, the A4 major Trace now increases all allies’ damage rather than hers.

Black Swan’s Eidolon change
Out of all Black Swan’s E2, E4, and E6 went through some changes in the first version of the Honkai Star Rail 4.0 Closed Beta test. Her second Eidolon (E2) now inflicts 30 stacks of Arcana on the enemies when they enter the battlefield.
Black Swan’s E4 increases the DMG taken by enemies under the Epiphany state instead of lowering their Effect RES. Moreover, the energy regeneration part will now be at the start of every turn or when the adversaries are eliminated.
As for her E6, Black Swan can now hold 20 more Arcana stacks. On top of that, the additional Arcana infliction from her attacks is now guaranteed instead of being 50/50.
