The Dodgers are planning to go with Shohei Ohtani to start Game 7, The Post’s Joel Sherman reported. And that makes the most sense.
Due to a quirk in rules, the Dodgers would lose the DH if Ohtani came in as a reliever but not as a starter. That’s what makes him a better option to start.
Ohtani will be pitching on three days’ rest (and three days since he needed IVs to recover from his historic Game 3 performance). So he may wind up being more opener than starter. Still, it’s the right choice.
Assuming Ohtani does start, it’ll be a matchup of future Hall of Famers since Max Scherzer is Toronto’s starter.
