Millions of Americans gathered together for “No Kings Day” protests across the country on Saturday, with elected leaders also participating in — or lampooning — the marches. About 2,600 demonstrations aimed at criticizing the Trump administration were planned across all 50 states. Protests were held in small towns and major cities, including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, New Orleans, Miami and Portland, Ore. In Illinois, where President Trump has quarreled with Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker over deploying the National Guard in Chicago and elsewhere, protests peppered the state. Pritzker, in a post on the social media site X,…
Vice President Vance on Saturday told the U.S. Marine Corps members gathered at Camp Pendleton in California that they will get paid despite the government shutdown. Vance, appearing with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and second lady Usha Vance, gave remarks at the Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary celebration. “I bring greetings today from our commander in chief, Donald J. Trump, and he wanted me to tell each and every single one of you that he’s proud of you, that he loves you,” Vance said. “And despite the Schumer shutdown, he is going to do everything he can to make sure you…
The State Department said on Saturday that the U.S.-designated terrorist group Hamas is planning an “imminent” attack on Palestinians in Gaza, potentially violating the terms of its peace deal with Israel about a week after the pact’s agreement. “This planned attack against Palestinian civilians would constitute a direct and grave violation of the ceasefire agreement and undermine the significant progress achieved through mediation efforts,” department officials said in a statement shared on the social platform X. The statement added that if the attack proceeds, the U.S. will take measures “to protect the people of Gaza and preserve the integrity of…
Eric Trump on Thursday sought to clarify what President Trump and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto talked about during a hot mic moment when the commander-in-chief’s son came up during a conversation. Subianto was heard speaking with his American counterpart in Egypt on Monday and asked if he could “meet Eric.” “I’ll have Eric call,” President Trump replied. “Should I do that? He’s such a good boy.” During an appearance on “Bolling!” with Eric Bolling, on Real America’s Voice, Eric Trump noted the Trump Organization has two projects in Indonesia, one located in the tourist mecca Bali and the other in…
Ahead of his upcoming meeting with President Trump on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he met with Department of Energy Secretary Chris Wright and various American energy and defense companies on Thursday. Zelensky shared a series of posts on the social platform X, where he talked about meeting with Wright and several executives and CEOs of various companies, including Bechtel, GE Vernova, Westinghouse Electric Company, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, among others. “During my meeting with Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy Chris Wright, we discussed in detail energy capacities and potential projects for partnership in the energy…
Former Massachusetts Gov. and Utah Sen. Mitt Romney (R) said he’s heartbroken after his sister-in-law was found dead in a parking garage in Santa Clarita, Calif., on Friday. “Our family is heartbroken by the loss of Carrie, who brought warmth and love to all our lives,” Romney said in a statement obtained by People magazine. “We ask for privacy during this difficult time.” At around 9 p.m. on Friday, homicide investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department were called to the 24000 block of Town Center Drive in Santa Clarita for a death investigation, according to a sheriffs department…
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) praised President Trump for being “willing to take the heat” after thousands of furloughed federal employees were laid off during the government shutdown. “What’s fascinating, if you watch, Trump has now begun to systematically lay off people permanently,” Gingrich said Sunday on the “Cats Roundtable” radio show hosted by John Catsimatidis on WABC 770 AM. “I think what Trump is gambling is that he can actually change the federal government dramatically during the shutdown.” “He’s willing to take the heat because, frankly, when he’s busy going to the Middle East to be part of a peace…
A federal appeals court on Saturday partially restored President Trump’s control of the National Guard in Chicago and across Illinois, but prevented him from being able to actually deploy servicemembers in the Prairie State. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit granted the Trump administration’s request for an administrative stay in part, meaning the president is allowed to federalize the National Guard in Illinois. The appeals court, however, denied the administration’s request to be able to deploy the National Guard. Unless further ordered by the court to do so, troops do not need to return to their home…
New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani (D) described the indictment of New York Attorney General Letitia James as political retribution, which he added is the “only thing” President Trump can deliver on. “Look, I think we’ve seen, whether it be with [former FBI Director] James Comey, whether it be with Attorney General James, that this is not something that Donald Trump is going to stop at any one individual,” Mamdani said on CNN’s “The Source with Kaitlan Collins” on Friday. “It’s a feature of his political agenda, and it is the only thing that he can quite deliver on…
The Rafah crossing will reopen to allow passage between Gaza and Egypt following Israel and Hamas’s agreement to a peace deal and the first phase of a ceasefire. A European Union Border Assistance Missions (EUBAM) monitoring mission will resume its duties, according to a statement from Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto on Friday. The crossing will reopen on Tuesday. “On Sunday, October 12, the operations for the release of Israeli hostages and the release of Palestinian prisoners will begin,” Crosetto said, according to a translation. “The Israelis are working to restore the logistical functionality of the crossing’s infrastructure as quickly as possible.”…
