A remarkably well-preserved Roman sarcophagus has been unearthed in Hungary’s capital, offering a rare window into the life of the young woman inside and the world she inhabited around 1,700 years ago. Archaeologists with the Budapest History Museum discovered the limestone coffin during a large-scale excavation in Óbuda, a northern district of the city that once formed part of Aquincum, a bustling Roman settlement on the Danube frontier. Untouched by looters and sealed for centuries, the sarcophagus was found with its stone lid still fixed in place, secured by metal clamps and molten lead. When researchers carefully lifted the lid,…

DENVER — The Rangers were up by a goal at the tail end of the first period when Artemi Panarin coughed up the puck along the boards. Flipping it to the middle of the ice, the star Russian wing handed possession back to the Avalanche on their way to evening the score at one-all. Martin Neces’ feed ricocheted off the skate of Vladislav Gavrikov to Nathan MacKinnon at the back post for an easy tap-in. The goal came with roughly 26 seconds left in the first period. “I thought I [saw] someone in the middle, but no one [was] there,”…

One of the most confusing parts of anorexia treatment for patients and families is setting a goal weight. People often imagine that the treatment team selects one exact number that represents recovery and that this number is set at the start and remains fixed. In practice, we establish an initial goal weight as a first benchmark so we can see how the body responds when consistent nourishment resumes. This early number is not final at all. It is a starting point. And because getting weight restoration right is critically important to treatment outcome, it is worth understanding how initial goal…
