Hamas has indicated it could reject President Trump’s Gaza peace deal because it only “serves Israel’s interests” and ignores the Palestinian people, one of the group’s senior figures said Wednesday. The militant group is said to have issues with some of Trump’s 20 conditions for ending the war, including that it disarm and destroy its weapons, as well as the deployment of an International Stabilization Force into Gaza, the official told BBC News. Hamas is yet to officially respond to Trump’s peace plan for the embattled territory — days after Israel agreed to the terms. Hamas suggested it could reject…
Republican New Jersey gubernatorial hopeful Jack Ciattarelli is running neck and neck against Rep. Mikie Sherrill in the high-stakes race — after making rapid gains in polling over recent weeks, according to a fresh poll. Sherrill narrowly edged out Ciattarelli 48.1% to 45.8% among likely voters, which is within the margin of error, marking a dramatic dip from the 10-point lead the congresswoman had in a Labor Day survey, a Quantus Insights Poll found. The stunning poll shows Ciattarelli dominating with Independent voters 51% to 38% and that voters across the board want a change (76%). Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli…

At least one person’s death was believed to be connected to the explosion at a residential building early Wednesday, which Munich police said was deliberately set on fire and part of a domestic dispute. It was not immediately clear whether the deceased was the suspected perpetrator or someone else. Another person, who was not considered to be a danger to the public, remained missing. The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge opened to traffic for the first time on Sunday — and now claims to be the world’s tallest and largest span bridge in a mountainous area, according to Chinese state media. Located in China’s Guizhou Province, the bridge hangs over the Beipan River and crosses through the Huajiang Canyon. The bridge is reportedly 2,050 feet above the river. It stretches nearly 10,000 feet long, with a main span of about 5,000 feet. Guizhou Highway Engineering Group Company’s chief engineer, Zhang Shenglin, said the bridge spans “earth’s crack.” The bridge, he added, “will showcase China’s engineering capabilities…
When Anthony Volpe was at some of his lowest points this season, Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone each stood behind the shortstop, harkening back to what he did last October as reason to believe he was capable of more. That faith was rewarded in Volpe’s first at-bat. The shortstop, who made a late push to regain his starting job, was responsible for the only bit of Yankees offense on Tuesday night, homering off Garrett Crochet in a 3-1 loss to the Red Sox in Game 1 of their AL wild-card series at Yankee Stadium. “It felt good to put us…
