If you’re raising a puppy you hope will mature into an affiliative, adaptable, and self-assured therapy dog, playful socialization should be a significant focus of your first months together. Socialization is an essential aspect of puppy training that lays the foundation for a confident, friendly, and well-adjusted dog. One of your key responsibilities as a guardian-handler is personalizing a socialization program according to your pup’s age and needs. Understanding the Developmental Stages of Puppyhood To effectively socialize your puppy, you must first understand the various stages of its development. By understanding these developmental stages, you can tailor your socialization and…
Investigators in Dallas have discovered what they believe to be anti-ICE shooter Joshua Jahn’s vehicle, which had a map depicting radioactive fallout in the US affixed to the right rear quarter panel, Fox4 News Dallas reports. Text above the tattered printed out map stuck to the gunman’s blue Toyota Corolla read “Radioactive fallout from nuclear detonations have passed over these areas more than 2x since 1951.” A poster on the car left near the scene of the shooting at the Dallas ICE facility. Canadian filmmaker Ian Tuason makes a strikingly intimate and unnerving debut with The Undertone, a small-budget independent horror film that uses sound to unearth dread in ways few genre films dare attempt. Making its world premiere at Fantasia Festival, the film’s effectiveness is rooted in its deeply personal origins. Tuason revealed during the post-screening Q&A […]
A swanky cannabis store in Southampton has been playing with fire – and now risks getting burned by a clampdown from local authorities. Last week, Charlie Fox – which has been likened to a Bergdorf Goodman store for weed – opened its doors in the posh Hamptons enclave and was hit with a cease-and-desist order from town officials shortly after its opening. Late Tuesday, the town’s board fired back – voting unanimously to file an injunction in New York state court to shut down the upscale pot shop, citing a requirement for a “special permit” to open. Charlie Fox opened…
The Giants’ colossal quarterback shift might not be enough to save the sinking ship, at least in the eyes of one Hall of Fame QB. The Giants — off to a disheartening 0-3 start — called an audible on Tuesday and benched struggling veteran Russell Wilson in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart ahead of their Week 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Kurt Warner, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and former field general for the Big Blue, responded to the report by drawing concern around the team’s offensive gameplan under head coach Brian Daboll. …
For decades, medicine has been dominated by a “fix-it-when-it-breaks” mentality. We wait for disease to appear, then react. But when the machinery in question is the only body you’ll ever have, waiting until failure is both risky and costly. A better way forward, what I call healthspan medicine, is proactive, preventive, and personal. The Intersection of Psychology and Biology Healthspan medicine blends advances in diagnostics, geroscience, systems biology, and artificial intelligence with a clear-eyed recognition that our biology is deeply influenced by our psychology. Stress, social connection, optimism, and purpose are not abstract “nice-to-haves”, they alter our hormones, immune function,…
Leonardo DiCaprio reflected on the early days of his career on the latest episode of “New Heights.” The movie star, 50, shared on Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s podcast Wednesday that he once had an agent tell him he’d have to change his real name to be successful. He said the agent told him his monicker was “too ethnic,” adding, “They’re never going to hire you.” Leonardo’s last name is Italian, as his father, George DiCaprio, is a mix of Italian and German descent. Leonardo DiCaprio revealed on “New Heights” why an agent asked him to change his name. The…
Archaeologists in Israel recently found an ancient treasure hoard dating back more than 1,600 years – not far from where Jesus carried out much of his ministry. The coins were found at Hukok, a kibbutz in northern Israel, according to the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA). Hukok is roughly three miles west of Capernaum, an ancient fishing town where Jesus preached and performed miracles. Hukok and Capernaum are part of the Galilee region, which stretches from Israel’s Jezreel Valley to the border of Lebanon. The coins, however, were not contemporary to Jesus. The IAA said that they date back to the 4th century A.D., over…

WASHINGTON — Perhaps Russia is a paper bear. The Kremlin fired back at President Trump’s dig that Russia looks like a “paper tiger” by bizarrely insisting it is actually a “bear” that’s still a formidable military power despite its failure to conquer Ukraine. “Russia is by no means a tiger. Russia is traditionally seen as a bear. There is no such thing as paper bears. Russia is a real bear,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told RBC Radio in an awkward response. “There is nothing paper about it.” “There is no such thing as paper bears. Russia is a real bear,” Kremlin spokesperson…
