Chinese landscape architect Kongjian Yu died in a plane crash late on Tuesday in the vast Brazilian wetlands of Mato Grosso do Sul state, Brazilian authorities said on Wednesday. Yu, 62, gained global relevance as a landscape architect and urban planner after the Chinese government adopted his concept of “sponge cities” using nature-based solutions to absorb and retain water instead of concrete infrastructure to channel it away. The concept has since been adopted in hundreds of places in China as well as urban areas from the U.S. to Russia. Architect Yu Kongjian speaks during an interview at his firm’s office in Beijing, Friday, Oct. 21,…
Jordan Clarkson’s reputation precedes itself. He lets it fly. “I know it’s the first day of training camp, but definitely I feel like down the line, all the guys know,” Clarkson, fresh off his first practice Wednesday with the Knicks, said as he cracked a smile, “throw it to me and it’s getting in the air. “Majority of the time, I feel like I’m open.” For most of his 11 NBA years, Clarkson brought this no-conscience shooting mindset off the bench. He once averaged about 16 field goal attempts and 18.4 points in 26.7 minutes as a reserve. That season,…

For example, they may be having trouble managing their emotions (e.g., get angry more easily or seem down). You also might start to see the ways that their actions or inactions are unhealthy. It is possible that no more than six players who were in Tuesday night’s lineup against the Bruins will make it to the Rangers opening-night roster, with only nine having pulled on the Blueshirt last season. The result of this exhibition game did not count. And yet, this 5-4 overtime defeat in which the Rangers played casual hockey in the third period while frittering away a 4-1 lead prompted head coach Mike Sullivan to send a message to his team in a postgame meeting. “It’s not about the loss. It’s about how we lost, right?” Sullivan said. “One of the…
WASHINGTON — President Trump’s dramatic pronouncement Tuesday that Russia is a “paper tiger” is based on new US intelligence that shows the Kremlin is spiraling toward economic ruin and battlefield defeat as a result of its invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Trump’s insistence in the same statement that Ukraine can regain all the land currently occupied by Russia is the president’s latest “strategic move” to try and bring Russia to the negotiating table, sources inside and outside the White House told The Post Wednesday. Despite months of administration efforts and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s stated willingness to pursue peace talks, Russian…
