PHOENIX — The chorus of boos showered on WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert when she took the microphone Friday night to present the Aces their championship trophy was deafening and unrelenting. Whatever Engelbert was saying wasn’t audible amid the jeers. ESPN did its best to blur out the middle fingers fans put up in the background. Though it’s common for league commissioners to be the target fans’ ire, Friday’s scene could be a defining moment in league history. The WNBA and Women’s National Basketball Players’ Association remains at odds with the current collective bargaining agreement set to expire Oct. 31. Negotiations…
A pizza delivery gone wrong is going viral for all the right reasons. Pastor Neal Seiwert of Castle Rock, Colorado, placed a Papa John’s delivery order for himself and his family over the weekend. The delivery driver, Suzanna, arrived to drop off the order — realizing at that moment that she had the wrong order with her, Seiwert told Fox News Digital. “I’m sorry, I’m getting old,” Suzanna told the family, adding that she saw order No. 57 but the Seiwerts were actually No. 67. “I screwed up. I’m sorry,” she added. The pastor replied, “Don’t you, for one second, feel bad.…
PHOENIX — As the final buzzer sounded Friday night, Jackie Young heaved the ball to the sky, and no one even bothered to grab it for a long while. Instead of retrieving the piece of history, the Aces gathered in a big circle, jumped, hugged and cheered. There’s a lot of uncertainty regarding what happens next in the WNBA. But on this night, it was all about the Aces. Becky Hammon and A’ja Wilson, who was the MVP of the series, pose for a photo with the WNBA championship trophy after the Aces scored a 97-86 win to sweep the…
PITTSBURGH — The first Rangers goal of the 2025-26 season belonged to Alexis Lafrenière on Thursday night in Buffalo. It was a greasy game-opening goal that came on a rebound of an Artemi Panarin shot just under 12 minutes into the first period, when Lafrenière battled through some traffic to tuck the puck past Sabres goalie Alex Lyon. “It was good to get one early in the game,” Lafrenière said after the 4-0 victory. “Good play. Saw Bread (Panarin) going up ice and just trying to get in front. I got a good bounce, so it was good to get…
Indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James repeatedly listed her Virginia home as an “investment” property in financial disclosure forms – despite allegedly making false claims to a bank to obtain a favorable loan that barred her from using the house as a rental. The three bedroom Norfolk, Va., home James purchased in August of 2020 – named in Thursday’s federal grand jury indictment – is listed in the “real estate” section of James’ 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 disclosures to the New York State Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government as an “investment,” valued at between “$100,000 to…
President Trump “remains in exceptional health” after undergoing what he described as a “semiannual physical” at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday, according to White House physician Sean Barbabella. Trump received a clean bill of health Friday night after completing advanced imaging, laboratory tests, and multiple preventative health assessments that determined his cardiac age is a whopping 14 years younger than his actual age of 79. The president also received several vaccines – including his annual flu shot and a COVID-19 booster – ahead of his trip to the Middle East, Barbabella noted in his memo. President Donald…
Slender Man. You have probably heard of this fictional internet creation at some point in your life. Maybe he was brought to your attention in the documentary Beware the Slenderman on HBO, or the 2018 horror movie Slender Man. Maybe it was the video game by Mark J. Hadley, Slender: The Eight Pages that gained him access into your life. Regardless of how you heard of this terrifying, faceless man who stalks children, did you know he was the motivation of two 12 year old girls stabbing their middle school classmate? The 2014 attack on Payton Leutner by her friends…
Consumers’ Research, a leading nonprofit dedicated to consumer information and taking on woke corporations, launched a new campaign Thursday targeting insurance giant Chubb Limited and its CEO Evan Greenberg, alleging “deep ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).” The campaign, which is facing pushback from a Chubb official and a pair of renowned China hawks accusing the nonprofit of misrepresenting Greenberg’s view, is part of a seven-figure initiative titled “China Chubb.” The campaign accuses the insurance company and its chief executive of “cozying up to the CCP” and “using their market power and resources to push a woke, political agenda on the…
I ran my first half marathon when I was twenty-seven. My pace was a little over twelve minutes per mile, and I was among the last finishers, but I didn’t care. I finished 13.1 miles on foot! I felt like a rock star. Thirty years (and many, many races of varying lengths) later, this last May I ran a half marathon I participate in every year. My finishing time was 1:38. My pace? 12:06/mile. I haven’t gotten any faster. But you know what? I haven’t gotten any slower either. I like to joke that if I keep this up, maybe…
NATO allies are considering deploying armed drones along the Russian border — and loosening restrictions on when pilots can shoot down enemy aircraft, according to a report. The talks were initiated by frontline NATO states that border Russia, backed by the UK and France, but have since broadened to a larger group in the 32-strong alliance, NATO officials told the Financial Times. Among the proposals on the table are the arming of surveillance drones that collect intelligence on Moscow’s military activities, and lowering the bar for pilots patrolling the border to take down Russian threats. NATO officials are considering loosening…
