North Korea fired what appeared to be multiple short-range ballistic missiles on Wednesday, South Korea’s military said, a week before a key Asia-Pacific leaders’ meeting in South Korea. It was the first launch of ballistic missiles since May by Pyongyang, which has defied a United Nations Security Council ban on the weapons. It was also the first such launch since Lee Jae Myung was elected president in South Korea, with a platform of engagement with North Korea. US tourists described the terrifying moment they narrowly came face-to-face with the brazen Louvre Museum robbers who escaped the world-famous Paris museum with irreplaceable treasures in broad daylight. Curt Dale Clark, Artistic Director of the Maine State Music Theatre, said he and 28 others from the theatre group had only seen “five or six really fantastic pieces of art” on Sunday when they were about to “enter the room next door to the room where the robbery happened.” Clark recalled that Louvre security guards suddenly began acting “horrible and rude” toward them, but didn’t understand what was happening since no…
Make it three straight weeks that the No. 1 team in Tom Brady’s power rankings has gone down. After getting anointed as the No. 1 team last week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost decisively to the Detroit Lions in Week 7. The result was just one of many that’s brought some chaos to the top as we continue to figure out who the contenders in the league are nearly halfway through the season. Even the GOAT needed some help to round out his latest top 10, so much so that he called upon a coin to help him pick his 10th team.…

Offering up confusion. A Detroit pastor is under fire for ridiculing a worshipper who attempted to gift $1,200 to the church instead of the $2,000 he had requested during a fundraiser — as the minister defended his now-viral stance on giving. Perfecting Church’s Bishop Marvin Winans was caught on camera sneering at a woman’s charity in front of her face as she delivered the large donation to the church during the congregation’s “Day of Giving” on Oct. 19. Disgraced ex-Long Island Rep. George Santos revealed he is fleeing the Big Apple if Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani is elected mayor — as he urged Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa to form a “coalition.” “Sadly it seems that my family and I will be departing the city I’ve called home my entire life. NYC will become a very dangerous place to live in if we elect mayor Mamdani and that is a risk I am unwilling to take now that I want to start growing my family,” Santos wrote on X Tuesday. The left-wing Democratic nominee holds a double-digit lead…
Shutdown like it’s 1995. The ongoing government shutdown became the second-longest in US history Wednesday, surpassing the 1995-1996 lapse in federal funding as it dragged into day 22 with no end in sight. Senate Democrats have blocked Republican attempts to reopen the government 11 times since Oct. 1, when all but three members of the caucus voted against moving forward with a House-passed measure to keep federal departments and agencies funded at current levels through Nov. 21. The Senate will gavel in at 10 a.m. Wednesday to try yet again to end the shutdown, as Democratic leaders demand a meeting…
