We all need to share what weighs on our hearts. Daily exchanges with those we love are one of the main ways we sustain intimacy and trust. Yet there is a difference between healthy connecting and what I call dumping. Dumping vs. Connecting Dumping happens when one person pours out unprocessed frustrations without awareness of the impact on the other. The dumper may walk away feeling lighter, but the other is left carrying the weight. Over time, they can feel drained, anxious, or resentful. The relationship space becomes murky. Healthy connecting looks very different. Both people leave the exchange with…

Eight skydivers had jumped from a plane two minutes before it crashed off the New South Wales coast, killing the pilot. Paul Smith, 54, died when a skydiving plane he was piloting crashed in Moruya about 1.2 miles from the airport shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday. NSW Police Inspector Justin Marks told reporters the skydivers safely jumped from the plane at about 14,000 feet just two minutes before it crashed. “The aircraft has come to rest in thick bushland adjacent to George Bass Drive, while the wing has come to a rest on George Bass Drive itself,” he said.…
A British blogger has been arrested at his home for sharing a meme saying “F–k Hamas.” Pete North, 47, shared a video of police arriving at his home in Yorkshire late last Thursday and telling him he was being arrested because he “posted something on the internet” which someone from their hate crime team “didn’t appreciate.” Even though his meme also said “f–k Palestine” and “f–k Islam,” the cops seemed most focused on him offending the terror group behind the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, North told the Telegraph. North was questioned by police over the social media post last…

Film festivals are a blast. There are the known titles and the early premieres that everyone is excited to check out. But there are also the small titles that are making their debuts or just building momentum, and suddenly there is a new film that you are excited about that hadn’t been anywhere near your radar the day before. Finding those films is one of my favorite parts of any fest, and Dolly is one of those movies. It had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest and was one of the most talked-about films at the festival. Directed by Rod…
“Man is condemned to be free.” –Jean-Paul Sartre We spend our lives chasing freedom. As kids, the countdown until summer break starts in April, waiting in blissful impatience for the days when we can wake at noon, stretch toward the sky, and do whatever we want—no alarm clock dictating our lives. Later, it’s the longing for graduation, the weekend, retirement: Independence and self-determination shine as our ultimate prize. Yet when the ankle weight of responsibility is removed, many of us freeze. The vastness of possibility can feel like an impossible mountain to climb. We have the whole summer to renovate…
Lufthansa Group said Monday that it would shed 4,000 jobs by 2030 with the help of artificial intelligence, digitalization and consolidating work among member airlines — even as the company reported strong demand for air travel and predicted stronger profits in years ahead. Most of the lost jobs would be in Germany, and the focus would be on administrative rather than operational roles, the company said.
