I’m very excited for our readers to experience Shelby Oaks for themselves later this month. After its successful festival run and an acquisition from NEON, the film will be released to theaters everywhere on October 24th, and I had the opportunity to catch up with writer and director Chris Stuckmann. Our interview touches upon his early influences, the collaborative process to bring his vision to life, and updates to the film following its acquisition. This is an insightful, inspiring conversation for anyone interested in making their own film or even just better understanding the process of bringing this terrifying film…

Lisa, a client in her mid-50s, came to me a few months after her divorce. She was furious—at her ex for leaving, at her friends for not choosing sides, and most of all at herself for “failing” in her marriage. Beneath all that anger was something more profound: resistance. She clung to the fantasy that if she just tried harder, maybe her ex would come back. “I can’t accept this,” she said. “This isn’t how things were supposed to be. It’s not how I imagined my life.” That disconnect—between what we want things to be and how they are—is where…
Rosie O’Donnell is reflecting on that iconic daytime fight. The comedian, 63, came to blows with her “View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck in 2007 over American military activity in the Middle East while live on air. The heated exchange got so out of hand that the show turned off its live shot and created a split-screen of the two women going at it. This type of shot was unprecedented at the time and became one of the show’s most talked about moments. Rosie O’Donnell recalls her iconic fight with Elisabeth Hasselbeck on “The View.” Ricki-Lee & Tim Joel/TikTok Now, O’Donnell alleges that…
A surfer has been attacked by a shark at a popular tourist destination in South Australia. The man, aged in his 50s, was bitten twice on the leg at D’Estrees Bay in an area known as The Sewer at Kangaroo Island. He managed to drive himself to the hospital and will undergo emergency surgery. Shark Watch South Australia said the incident happened about 1:37 pm on Tuesday. It is believed to have been a bronze whaler that bit the surfer. A member of the public reported seeing a large shark chase seals around the bay when it bit the man.…
Donna Kelce paid tribute to her future daughter-in-law with a cap covered in Swiftie references at Monday’s Chiefs game. Getty Images Even when Taylor Swift can’t be at the Kansas City Chiefs game in person, Donna Kelce is making sure she’s on the sidelines in spirit. The NFL mom, 72, showed her support for her future daughter-in-law at son Travis Kelce’s football game Monday night, sporting a playful white baseball cap covered in doodles referencing Swiftie iconography. The front of the hat featured an illustration of the pop star in her “1989” era wearing her then-signature Wayfarer shades, while other…
Archaeologists in the United Kingdom recently unearthed ancient relics beneath a bustling marketplace — including the remains of a “vile” dungeon. Announcing the discovery in a Sept. 23 press release, officials at the University of Leicester said the dig yielded “extraordinary evidence of 2,000 years of human activity” in Leicester’s marketplace. Archaeologists uncovered the finds while working alongside construction crews who are redeveloping the market square. “Among the most poignant finds is the grave of a Roman infant, buried beneath a floor of a timber building dating back nearly 1,800 years,” the university’s statement said. “Nearby, the team uncovered rarely found Roman…
Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday fired a rocket toward southern Israel on the second anniversary of Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, which this year coincides with the Sukkot holiday. The projectile, which triggered air-raid sirens in Netiv HaAsara, “most likely” landed within the border community but caused no injuries, according to the Israel Defense Forces. Two years after October 7th, the hero first responders of the deadliest attack in Israel’s history worry that the horrors of that day have been tragically downgraded to a footnote in history. “People talk about Israel as if they have no idea what happened here,” said Elina Bon, a volunteer for the Israeli ambulance corps Magen David Adom. The 31-year-old worked a 16-hour shift, treating the wounded and transporting the dead in the southern-Israeli city of Ofakim.
