Roman Reigns suffered a loss at WWE Survivor Series 2025 when Bron Breakker of Team Vision pinned CM Punk to emerge on top at WarGames. The OTC was on the babyface side, but his team failed to secure the victory.
Post-match, Reigns and Punk shared a great moment in the ring, but The Head of the Table seemed unhappy with Cody Rhodes. After a heated face-off, the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion sent a message to Rhodes affirming that it was the last time he was on the same team as The American Nightmare.
Thanks for the submission!
Many believe that a seed was planted for Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes III in the near future, possibly at WrestleMania 42. Meanwhile, after what went down at the San Diego premium live event, Roman Reigns could go off on another hiatus. In the past few months, we have seen that Reigns has often been away from weekly television programming. So, a similar thing could happen again, where he disappears from the Stamford-based promotion for some time.
Later, the OTC can return for the Men’s Royal Rumble and win it to earn the right to challenge Cody Rhodes for an Undisputed WWE Title match at WrestleMania 42. With this, WWE can easily set up Roman vs Cody III. Additionally, Reigns winning the Men’s Royal Rumble bout can be a great way to elevate Roman into ‘God mode’ again.
It must be noted that the above scenario is mere speculation for now, and tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW could draw a clearer picture of what the Stamford-based company plans to do moving forward.
Triple H has already confirmed Roman Reigns’ major plans in WWE
After Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes’ heated face-off as the show drew to a close at Survivor Series 2025, Triple H confirmed major plans for the OTC in the post-show conversation.
The Chief Content Officer of WWE asserted that the Head of the Table doesn’t need to win any number one contender match to earn a World Title match. Further, The Game also mentioned that CM Punk or Cody Rhodes could collide with Roman Reigns in the near future. The Kings of the Kings’ words would seem to indicate that Reigns will be a part of a World Title picture again soon.
Most likely, Cody Rhodes will be the opponent of the Samoan star, but it remains to be seen what plans Triple H has in store for Reigns. As of this writing, the next appearance of The Tribal Chief is yet to be announced.
Tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW might give some update or hint on his next potential appearance.
