A fan-favorite Diet Coke flavor is back in the lime-light.
The rumors are true — Diet Coke is bringing back one of its most beloved flavors, Retro Diet Coke Lime, this fall.
Diet Coke Lime, known for its crisp, zesty lime twist, will hit shelves nationwide Oct. 6, both in cans and 20-ounce bottles, for a limited time only while supplies last.
Diet Coke is tapping into the nostalgia craze that’s taking over popular culture with retro-inspired neon lime packaging that nods to the brand’s early-2000s roots while still looking fresh on today’s shelves.
The drink was a breakout favorite when it first launched in 2004, and fans have been begging for its return since it was discontinued in 2018 and replaced with Diet Coke Ginger Lime.
Fans were ecstatic to learn about the return of Diet Coke Lime.
“Am I dreaming or is this real???” one comment on food blogger Markie Devo’s Instagram post read.
“God bless omg,” another wrote.
“Omggggg yessss I add true lime packets to my Diet Coke every day so this is amazing,” someone shared.
“This is the best news EVER,” one said.
“OMG!! I thought this day would never come,” a user commented.
This isn’t the first time the company has listened to the demand for nostalgic favorites.
Earlier this summer, Retro Diet Cherry Coke returned to shelves for a limited time and was a big hit with fans.
Coca-Cola also revived its iconic “Share a Coke” campaign for the first time in over a decade in a bid to target a younger audience with nostalgia.
In January, Coca-Cola has brought back the regular Lime Coke flavor, which hadn’t been on store shelves for 18 years, for a limited time.
