A Victorian man form Australia has been named as the pilot involved in a fatal plane crash in Brazil at the weekend.
According to local media, Alagoas Military Police say a single-engine plane crashed in a sugarcane field on September 14, carrying about 400 pounds (180kg) of cocaine.
The single occupant reportedly died at the scene.
Multiple Brazilian news outlets have reported the crash near Coruripe, a coastal city about 500km (310 miles) north of Salvador, with photos depicting packages bearing SpaceX branding.
Photos depict a blue and white SpaceX logo, the space technology company founded by Elon Musk, centred on plastic-wrapped packages.
The plane was registered in the African nation of Zambia, media reports claim.
Footage published online shows firefighters and police in the sugarcane field, and more than 70 individually packaged bricks stacked in front of a police banner.
According to reports from Gazeta, a Victorian driver’s licence belonging to a 46-year-old from the east of Melbourne was found in the wreckage.
