Perez Hilton weighed in after Travis Kelce’s mother appeared to take a subtle dig at her son’s past relationships ahead of his wedding to Taylor Swift. In a January 9 article published on his website, Hilton broke down a moment from The Traitors US Season 4 that quickly caught fans’ attention.
Ahead of the reality show’s premiere, cast members were asked a series of introductory questions before gameplay officially began.
One of those questions centered on who they hoped not to encounter during the competition. When the question was posed to Jason and Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, she notably “didn’t name names” directly but still offered an answer that Hilton described as “easy to put the pieces together” and decode.
Hilton explained that her response appeared to lump together people from both her sons’ professional and personal pasts, subtly referencing individuals who may have caused tension or conflict.
“Some of my son’s adversaries. It could be on other teams, or it could be coaches, or it could be past girlfriends,” Hilton added, citing what Taylor Swift’s future mother-in-law had said.
Reacting to the comment, Hilton interpreted the mention of “past girlfriends” as a clear reference to Travis Kelce’s highly publicized relationship history. He explained that while Jason Kelce’s dating life before marriage remained largely private, Travis’ long-term relationship with sportscaster Kayla Nicole had unfolded very publicly.
“Well, of course, if we’re talking ex girlfriends… That means Kayla Nicole! We don’t really know anything about Jason’s ex girlfriends before he married Kylie Kelce — meanwhile, KillaTrav was in a VERY public relationship with the sportscaster for many years. That’s not-so-subtle shade!” Hilton remarked.
Hilton also reported on a lighter moment from The Traitors US Season 4. When Travis Kelce’s mother was asked who she would like to see in the castle, he noted that the 73-year-old revealed her celebrity wish list, sharing her enthusiasm for major stars like Martha Stewart, Stevie Nicks, and Shaquille O’Neal.
In his website article, Perez Hilton made it clear where he believed Donna Kelce stood when it came to her son’s relationship with Taylor Swift, whom Travis Kelce got engaged to in August 2025. He suggested that her comments showed loyalty and support, reinforcing reports that she and Taylor Swift shared a close bond.
“Donna Kelce is totally slamming her sons’ ‘adversaries’! OMG!… Donna is definitely team Tay Tay, if this proves anything! Which, we’ve heard they have a great relationship, so that’s no surprise,” Hilton remarked.

According to the Billboard report dated January 9, this episode dropped on Peacock on Thursday, January 8, and showed Travis Kelce’s mom stepping into the castle ready to compete.
Upon entering the game, Donna quickly found herself under scrutiny from fellow contestants. After being voted onto the chopping block, she used a subtle but pointed reference to Taylor Swift’s Midnights track “Vigilante Shit” to communicate her mindset.
Rather than appearing rattled, Donna made it clear she planned to respond strategically rather than emotionally.
She adapted Taylor Swift’s lyrics to suit the moment, emphasizing retaliation over frustration.
“Don’t get mad, get even…Don’t get sad, get even,” Travis Kelce’s mom said, putting her own spin on Swift’s words (as per Billboard report).
The premiere was one of three episodes released that day, and it ultimately revealed that Donna was secretly playing as a traitor. As the game unfolded, her cover was blown, and her fellow contestants voted to banish her from the castle.
Before her elimination, however, Real Housewives of New York City alum Dorinda Medley warned the group about the potential backlash of targeting her. Medley’s comment highlighted the cultural crossover between Donna Kelce and Taylor Swift’s fanbase, joking that eliminating her could provoke a strong reaction from Swift’s loyal followers.
“No one’s gonna murder [Donna] — the Swifties will kill you,” Medley said.
Before the tension reached its peak, Travis Kelce’s mom, Donna, shared a lighter moment with fellow players while traveling to the show’s lavish Scottish set.
She explained that her involvement in The Traitors stemmed from her sons’ enthusiasm for the series. According to Donna, both Jason and Travis Kelce were avid fans of the show and had encouraged her to take part.
She revealed that Jason Kelce, in particular, played a major role in getting her interested.
“They’re so excited…Jason is the one who got me involved. We just literally, one weekend during playoffs, we binged it. It was great,” she told fellow contestants.
Travis Kelce just wrapped up his 13th NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs, which ended on Sunday, January 4.
